INVITATION TO BID
The Eddy County Board of Commissioners will receive sealed bids until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, and the sealed bids will be opened and read aloud immediately thereafter by the County Manager, in his office, at 101 W. Greene Street, Suite 110, Carlsbad, NM 88220, telephone number (575) 887-9511, for B-09-04: New Tires, New Tubes, & Tire Repairs, for the Eddy County Road Department, District 2, The bid will be awarded by the Eddy County Board of Commissioners at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, in the Commission Chambers, Suite 110, 101 W. Greene Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Bid specifications may be obtained from the Office of the County Manager. The Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids, and in case of ambiguity or lack of clearness, to determine the best bid or to reject the same. Any questions on these specifications may be directed to Road Superintendent Frank Weldon, (575) 885-4835, 410 E. Derrick, Carlsbad. Bids must be clearly marked with the bid number and returned to the County Manager’s office at 101 W. Greene Street, Suite 110, Carlsbad, New Mexico, 88220.

NEW TIRES, NEW TUBES, & TIRE REPAIRS

NOT AN ORDER.
SUBMIT BID TO COUNTY OF EDDY, COUNTY MANAGER’S OFFICE,
IN A SEALED ENVELOPE PLAINLY INDICATING BID NUMBER AND KIND.
Bid must be submitted on regular bid forms furnished by the County of Eddy.
All prices shall be delivered, Eddy County Road Department, District 2, 2611 S. 13th St., Artesia, New Mexico, and must be held firm beginning August 1, 2009, through July 31, 2010.
Bid is for purchases of new tires and tubes, and tire repairs. The bid shall include tire disposal.
NEW TIRES: Tires are to be OEM or better; Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Firestone, or Michelin unless otherwise noted. Tires are to be first quality type, 100 level or better, nylon cord or better, and no blems or seconds. The price on this bid is to include dismounting, mounting and balancing when required. Bidder must maintain an adequate supply of all tire sizes available at all times. Bidder agrees to substitute for equal quality and value, any tires that have been discontinued and are no longer available.
TIRE REPAIRS: The price of repairs shall be inclusive of repairs performed at the county barn, at the bidder’s shop, and in the field. The price of repairs shall include all standard functions normally performed. The County will pay $1.50 per mile one way to the work site. The bidder's service person must turn in odometer reading from the Bidder's shop to the work site one way; and the Bidder must include this reading on the invoice. The $1.50 per mile is not a part of this bid.
NEW TUBES: First quality type. Bidder must maintain an adequate supply of all sizes at all times.
The successful bidder must have a shop in Eddy County. Bidder must bid on all tire repairs. Bidder must have adequate equipment and adequate replacement parts available to do a proper job. All safety equipment must be used and OSHA compliance must be adhered to when performing repairs on County equipment out in the field and on County property. Bidder must have a service person available at the Road Department for tire repairs at the start of the Eddy County Road Department's workday.
Bid will be awarded on the lowest total bid price. |
